Young Leader Training Weekend
There will be a training weekend for Young Leaders on the weekend of 23rd – 25th January 2009. It will take place at Sandalholme Barn, Bashall Eaves, near Clitheroe. The weekend starts and finishes at the Barn from 1930hrs on Friday evening until 1400hrs on Sunday. We will cover 4 of the Young leader modules – and also have fun! We will cover those modules which those at the weekend need to cover – we will split into different groups to do different modules if needed. It is a good opportunity to get together with other Young Leaders and share enthusiasm and ideas. The price of the weekend is only £15.00. Hopefully Districts and groups will help to cover this cost. If you are interested in attending the weekend please get in touch with Fil Ruddock (fil.ruddock@googlemail.com) who will send you further details. Or download an application form and further details from the County website.

Welcome to the Explorer Zone

Explorer Scouts are young people, usually aged between 14 and 18 years old. They make up the fourth Section of the Scouting family. There are many types of Explorer Scout Units, some may be linked to your local Scout Group, others may be based around different activities.

As an Explorer Scout, you will get the chance to work with other Explorer Scouts in your District, not just your Unit. By doing this, you will get the chance to do many more actvities, not just the ones your Unit organises.

There are Explorer Units throughout the County, see the links fr details of a Unt near to you.

Since Explorer Scouting started in 2003, we have seen East Lancs Units in New Zealand, USA, Switzerland, Romania and Iceland as well as all over the UK. Its up to you .... get down to your local unit and join the adventure
